The Canadian government has suffered a setback in the case of murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada in 2023. In this case, the four accused arrested by the Canadian Police have got bail from the court.

The accused include Karan Brar, Kamalpreet Singh, Karanpreet Singh and Amandeep Singh. It is being told that the Canadian Police was not appearing in the court. The accused have benefited from this. However, bail has been granted under stay on proceedings on court documents. Now the next hearing will be on February 11.

This is how Hardeep Singh was murdered

Nijjar was shot by two unidentified gunmen near the Gurunanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Nijjar was also the head of this Gurudwara. He was in his car in the parking lot outside the Gurudwara. Meanwhile, two youths came on a motorcycle and started firing.

Nijjar did not get time to get out of the car and died there. After this, Canadian police arrested four Punjabi youth in this case, although Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Indian agents of killing Nijjar. After which diplomatic relations between the two countries have soured. However, now after the accused got bail, questions are being raised on the government.

Was the chief of Khalistan Tiger Force

Hardeep Nijjar was the chief of Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF). NIA had recently released a list of 40 terrorists, Nijjar’s name was also included in it. He also had a role in conducting a referendum in favor of Khalistan in Brampton city. Nijjar was included in the list of most wanted terrorists of Indian agencies. His name had appeared in many cases of violence and crime in India. After which he was put in the list of wanted terrorist.

The priest was attacked on 31 January 2021

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had filed a chargesheet against four people, including Nijjar, in connection with the conspiracy to murder Hindu priest Kamaldeep Sharma in Jalandhar on January 31, 2021. The three other people chargesheeted in the case are Kamaljeet Sharma and Ram Singh, who attacked the priest on the instructions of Nijjar and his associate Arshdeep Singh alias Prabha.

Lookout notice was issued on 23 January 2015

The police had issued a lookout notice on January 23, 2015, and a red corner notice on March 14, 2016, against Nijjar. In which his extradition was being demanded. Nijjar was designated as an individual terrorist by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in July 2020.

The NIA said Nijjar was actively involved in recruiting, training, financing and operating a pro-Khalistan terrorist module to spread terror in India. He was involved in giving inflammatory and hate speeches through social media platforms.

In another case, the NIA had attached Nijjar’s property in his village in Punjab. Whose posters are still visible outside his house. A reward of Rs 10 lakh was announced against Nijjar in Canada. Nijjar was accused of murdering Ripudaman Singh Malik, who was acquitted in the 1985 Air India terrorist bombing case in Surrey last year.
