In Britain, the court has sentenced a boy who stabbed three girls to death in a dance class to 52 years in prison. Apart from murder, convict Axel Rudakubana was also facing 10 cases of attempt to murder.

While handing down the sentence on Thursday, the judge described it as one of the most serious crimes. Judge Julian Juz said that 18-year-old Axel Rudakubana wanted to commit mass murder of innocent girls. He said that the convict will have to serve a sentence of 52 years excluding the six months spent in custody.

Axel Rudakubana attacked several girls with a knife on the evening of 29 July in Southport, near Liverpool. In this, Alice da Silva Aguiar (9 years), Elsie Dot Stancomb (7 years) and Babe King (6 years) were killed and about 1 dozen people were injured. Most of the injured were children. Their age was between 7 to 13 years.

The biggest riot in 13 years broke out in Britain Following the incident, rumors spread online that the knife attacker in the dance class was a Muslim refugee, sparking public anger. After this, riots broke out in 17 cities of Britain. Many policemen were injured and property was also damaged.

However, the police had clarified that the accused has no connection with Islam. But despite this, anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim riots continued for several days. In Britain, the names of suspects under the age of 18 are not released. But in this case the court had to take a different decision.

The court ordered the identity of Rwandan-born Axel Rudakubana in Wales to be revealed, to prevent the spread of rumours.
