Tatkal tickets will be banned on black marketing, now booking will be done through e-Aadhaar; Government’s big decision – Railways Tatkal Ticket Booking Now via e aadhaar fake accounts to be blocked authentication mandatory for priority

IRCTC TATKAL TICKET Booking: Indian Railways has decided to make major changes in Tatkal ticket booking system. Now Tatkal tickets will be booked soon through e-Aadhaar authentication. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the purpose of this change is to curb fake booking, so that the needy and real travelers can get confirmed tickets on time.

Still backward passengers in confirmed ticket race

According to the Railways, every day 2.25 lakh passengers try Tatkal tickets from IRCTC’s online platform. But as soon as the booking opens, the tickets fill so fast that most of the passengers feel disappointed in the first minute.

The data from May 24 to June 2 shows that only 5,615 tickets could be booked in the first minute of opening AC class booking, while the possible ticket number was 1.08 lakhs. Within ten minutes, more than 67,000 tickets were filled, which is 62.5 per cent of the total Tatkal tickets. About 66 percent of the tickets were sold in non-AC class in the first 10 minutes.

It is clear that the demand is very high and the users already present in the system often leave the rest behind. There is also a large number of black marketing bots accounts of Tatkal tickets.

13 crore accounts, Aadhaar link only 1.2 crore

IRCTC has more than 13 crore active users, but only 1.2 crore users are verified by Aadhaar. Railways have now started investigating the remaining accounts. Considering about 20 lakh accounts as suspects, their Aadhaar and other documents are being investigated. Railways say that the accounts which are found to be fake will be deactivated.

Those who link Aadhaar will get preference in booking

The Railways plans that users who will link their IRCTC account to Aadhaar, they will get priority in the first 10 minutes of opening Tatkal ticket booking. That is, the system will first identify them and then pursue the booking process. This will curb those who book the tickets with bot and script and the system will become more transparent and fair.

New system will be implemented soon

The aim of the railway is to make ticket booking more secure and transparent through technology. The e-Aadhaar based system will be implemented soon. After this, those who book Tatkal tickets will be required to verify their Aadhaar. This will weaken the grip of brokers in online booking and will increase the chances of getting a confirmed ticket to real needy passengers.
