The Afghan Taliban cited stopping obscenity as the reason behind its decision.
Since the arrival of Taliban government in Afghanistan, many types of restrictions are being continuously imposed on women. The Taliban on Sunday ordered all NGOs working in Afghanistan to stop employing women, otherwise their recognition would be cancelled.
Earlier on Saturday, he issued an order banning the construction of windows in domestic buildings at those places from where women are likely to be visible. He cited the reason behind this to stop obscenity.
Taliban government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement issued on Saturday-

New buildings should not have windows that overlook the courtyard, kitchen, neighbour’s well and other places commonly used by women.
According to a Taliban spokesperson, seeing women in the kitchen, in the courtyard or fetching water from wells can give rise to obscenity.
Municipal corporation officials in Afghanistan have been ordered to keep an eye on new buildings being constructed. With this, it will be decided that such windows cannot be made in these buildings through which one can peep into the neighboring house.
The order states that if such windows already exist, homeowners will be asked to build a brick wall in front of them.

Instructions to stop women’s jobs in NGOs
The Taliban government has ordered all national and foreign NGOs in Afghanistan to stop employing women. The Economy Ministry warned in a letter issued on Sunday that if this order is not followed, the license of the concerned NGO will be cancelled.
The Taliban had also given a similar order two years ago, claiming that women were not following the Islamic hijab properly. Now women have been prevented from doing any kind of work in non-government institutions.
Tughlaqi continues issuing orders against women Since returning to rule Afghanistan, Taliban has been continuously issuing Tughlaqi decrees against women. Earlier this month, the Taliban had banned nursing training for women in Afghanistan. The reason behind this was also not explained.
In August this year, Afghan women were banned from speaking in public and showing their faces. Along with this, it was said that women should come out of the house only when it is absolutely necessary. Apart from this, Taliban has also banned women from participating in sports.

Sharia law is applicable in Afghanistan The Taliban took control of the government after a coup in 2021. After this he had said that Sharia law will be implemented in the country. Actually, Sharia is like a legal system for people who believe in Islam. It is used in many Islamic countries. However, it is not fully implemented in most Islamic countries including Pakistan. It contains laws on many big issues ranging from everyday life.
Sharia includes laws related to family, finance and business. Drinking alcohol, using drugs or trafficking is one of the major crimes under Sharia law. This is the reason why there are strict punishment rules for these crimes.
The Taliban government claims that Islamic law guarantees the rights of Afghan men and women.
