Supreme Court gave relief to Udayanidhi Stalin
Recently, Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udayanidhi Stalin made a controversial statement about Sanatan Dharma. After this the matter reached the Supreme Court, where he is relieved today. In this case, the Supreme Court said that no more case will be registered in this case without permission. At the same time, interim protection will continue due to arrest. The Supreme Court has also issued a notice on the new case in the Bihar case, which will be heard in the month of April. A bench of Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar extended the period of validity of the interim order that protected them from force in cases filed against Udayanidhi Stalin in connection with the comment on Sanatan Dharma.
Udayanidhi commented on Sanatan Dharma
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader said at a conference in September 2023 that Sanatan Dharma is against social justice and equality and should be “eradicated”. He compared Sanatan Dharma to Corona virus, malaria and dengue, saying that it should be destroyed. Many elements have been registered against him in various parts of the country including Maharashtra, Bihar, Jammu and Karnataka for this comment by Stalin. On the other hand, Udayanidhi Stalin is constantly targeting the central government on the delimitation case. In this regard, the DMK had called an all-party meeting in the past, in which all the small parties of Tamil Nadu were invited.
Prolongation of delimitation
On this matter, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu unit president K.K. Annamalai said on Saturday that his party would not participate in an all -party meeting to be held on March 5 on the delimitation process and accused Chief Minister MK Stalin of spreading “fictional fear” on the matter. In a letter to Stalin, Annamalai said that his party firmly believed that he has misunderstood the delimitation process and called an all -party meeting for “spreading his imaginary fear and lies deliberately about it”, while no official statement has yet come.
