A shocking incident came to light between Sambalpur and Jharsuguda in Odisha on Saturday morning. Unidentified miscreants stoned on the Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express train here. The incident occurred when most of the passengers were in deep sleep. The stone was placed on the window of AC coach B-7 of the train, which shattered the window glass. The incident occurred between Rengali and Jharsuguda railway stations at around 5:30 am. The stone came right on the window that was near the seat number 15. The stone pelting was so fast that the glass of the window broke and scattered inside.

The incident had a profound impact on the passenger sitting at seat number 15. The B-7 coach’s attendant of the Tapaswini Express said, “The passengers sitting on seat number 15 were badly nervous with the incident. They called me and told me that they had heard a loud bang, as if someone had shot.
Investigation of stone pelting case begins
Although no passenger suffered a serious injury in this incident, but other passengers traveling in the train also came into panic due to this incident. Immediately the coach attendant informed the concerned officials and the passenger was given necessary help and proper arrangements for further travel. At the moment it is not clear who did the stone pelting and why. The Railway Protection Force has started investigating the matter. CCTV footage of nearby stations is being investigated and eyewitnesses are being questioned. This accident has increased concern among passengers.
