Stocks in Focus: Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex fell by 1844.2 points or 2.32 percent. At the same time, NSE’s Nifty lost 573.25 points or 2.38 percent. Amidst the continuous decline in the market, the direction of Indian stock markets will be decided this week by the quarterly results of companies, inflation data and activities of foreign investors. Now on January 13, the first trading day of the week, many stocks are going to be in focus. Due to recent news, action can be seen in these shares. Shares like Avenue Supermarts, PCBL and Just Dial are included in this list.
Avenue Supermarts (DMART) net profit rose 4.8% to ₹723.7 crore. At the same time, the company’s revenue increased by 17.7 percent to ₹ 15,973 crore. EBITDA grew 8.7% to ₹1,217.3 crore. EBITDA margin increased to 7.6% from 8.3% last year. Anshul Asawa was appointed to the post of CEO with effect from 15 March 2025.
Just Dial’s net profit increased by 42.7 percent to ₹131.3 crore. Revenue increased by 8.4% to ₹287.3 crore. EBITDA grew 44% to ₹86.6 crore. EBITDA margin increased from 22.7% to 30.1%.
PCBL’s net profit declined by 39.1% to ₹93.1 crore. Revenue grew 21.3% to ₹2,010 crore. EBITDA increased by 13.7% to ₹317.4 crore. EBITDA margin increased to 15.8% from 16.9% last year. An interim dividend of ₹5.5 per share has been declared, for which the record date has been fixed as January 16, 2025.
Shares are being sold in Adani Wilmar through Offer for Sale (OFS). Adani Commodities, one of the promoter entities of Adani Wilmar, is selling up to 20 per cent stake in the company through OFS on January 10 and 13. OFS for retail investors will open on Monday.
Vaari Energies has acquired 100 per cent stake in Enel Green Power India Private Limited (EGPIPL) for ₹792 crore. EGPIPL is the Indian arm of Enel Green Power Development S.r.l., one of Europe’s leading renewable energy companies.
Indian Overseas Bank has invited bids to sell 46 NPA accounts worth ₹11433 crore. Eligible ARCs and other transferors can submit their EOI by 18 January 2025. The e-auction of these 46 NPA accounts will be conducted on January 30, 2025. This step is an important step for the bank towards reducing its NPA burden and improving asset quality.
Biocon Biologics’ insulin manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia has been classified as Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI) by the US FDA. This classification resulted from a cGMP inspection conducted between 15th and 27th September 2024.
