Market overview: Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened on a positive note on January 15. GIFT Nifty was already giving similar signals while trading with a bullish momentum. Talking about the last busy day, the Indian Equity Index broke the four-day losing streak and on January 14, closed with gains amid buying in most sectors except IT and FMCG. At the end of the trading session, Sensex closed 169.62 points or 0.22 per cent higher at 76,499.63 and Nifty closed 90.10 points or 0.39 per cent higher at 23,176.05.

GIFT Nifty is seeing a rise, indicating a positive start to the day. Nifty futures were trading around 23,308.50. At present, Gift Nifty is seen at the level of 23,311.50 with an increase of 45 points or 0.20 percent.
Asian market
Today mixed business is being seen in Asian markets. Nikkei is trading with a gain of 0.22 percent. Strait Times showed a weakness of 0.50 percent. While Taiwan’s market is trading down by 0.58 percent. At the same time, Hang Seng is trading with a gain of 0.21 percent. Whereas Kospi is trading with a gain of 0.35. At the same time, Shanghai Composite is showing a decline of 0.27 percent at the level of 3,232.75.
US market
The S&P 500 rose Tuesday, while the Nasdaq fell. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 221.16 points, or 0.52%, to 42,518.28, the S&P 500 rose 6.69 points, or 0.11%, to 5,842.91 and the Nasdaq Composite added 43.71 points, or 0.52%. Fell 0.23% to 19,044.39.

FII and DII fund flows
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold equities worth Rs 8,132 crore on January 14, while domestic institutional investors bought equities worth Rs 7,901 crore on the same day.
