The ICC has nominated Shubman Gill for the Player of the Month. Apart from him, two more players are included, including Steve Smith and Glenn Philips. This nomination has been done for a great performance done in the month of February. In February, Shubman Gill played five ODIs and scored 406 runs at an average of 101.50 at a strike rate of 94.19. Shubman Gill also showed a wonderful game when there was a three -match ODI series between India and England before the Champions Trophy. He scored 87 runs in Nagpur in the first ODI. After this, he made 60 in the second match played in Cuttack, after which he played a brilliant innings of 112 runs in the third match of Ahmedabad. After this, when Shubman Gill scored 101 runs when the Team India Champions Trophy came out to play against Bangladesh.
Steve Smith and Glenn Philips also nominated
If we talk about the rest of the nomination, then it comes to the name of Steve Smith, who is captaining Australia in the Champions Trophy. Even though the Australian team has been eliminated from the tournament after losing in the semi -finals of the Champions Trophy, Steve Smith has managed to get nomination. He had scored two centuries during the series played against Sri Lanka before the Champions Trophy. This is followed by Glenn Philips of New Zealand to be third and last nominated. Philips scored 236 runs in February 124.21 by playing five ODIs in February. In the tri -series, Glenn Philips scored 106 runs against Pakistan in Lahore. Apart from runs, Glenn Philips has also done amazing fielding in the Champions Trophy.
