Former cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has bought an apartment for Rs 69 crore. The deal is considered to be one of the most expensive transactions ever in the country’s real estate sector. Former Team India opener Dhawan bought this apartment in the super-linguistic residential project ‘The Dahlias’ of DLF located in Sector-54, Gurugram.
Five parking slots with super-taljari flat
According to documents accessed by real estate analytics firm Cre Matrix, this apartment is located in the DLF5 golf link. Its carpet area is 6,040 square feet. The property was registered in the first week of February 2025.
According to the documents, the base price of the apartment is Rs 65.61 crore, while an additional Rs 3.28 crore was paid as stamp duty. This causes the total price to Rs 68.89 crore. Dhawan has also found five parking slots with this super-linguity flat.
The documents also states that the apartment is priced at Rs 1,14,068 per square foot (according to the carpet area) and Rs 1,08,631 according to the super area. In view of this rate, this deal has joined the real estate transactions at the highest rate in India.
‘The Dahlias’: One of the most expensive residential project
DLF’s new project ‘The Dahlias’ is near his other luxury project ‘The Camelias’ located on the Golf Course Road. This project is developing on 17 acres of land. It has about 420 super-lifetime residential units.
DLF launched 173 apartments in the first phase, which have been completely sold. Earlier, the company sold two penthouse for Rs 150-150 crore in this project. The total development area of the project is being described as 7.5 million square feet.
Shikhar Dhawan’s big investment after retirement from cricket
Shikhar Dhawan, popularly known as ‘Gabbar’ in Indian cricket, announced his retirement from all formats of cricket in August 2024. He made his ODI debut against Australia in Visakhapatnam in 2010 and played his last international match against Bangladesh in 2022. In his career, Dhawan played 34 Tests, 167 ODIs and 68 T20 matches for India.
There is no response to this property purchase by Dhawan at the moment. At the same time, DLF Limited has also refused to comment on this transaction.
