Share Market Today: Indian stock markets closed higher for the second consecutive day on Thursday, January 23. Sensex closed 115 points higher. Whereas Nifty again crossed 23,200. Due to this, investors’ wealth increased by Rs 2.73 lakh crore in a day. There was greenery in Broader Market also today. BSE Midcap index closed with a gain of 1.78 percent and Smallcap index closed with a gain of 0.67 percent. During today’s trading, maximum gains were seen in IT, cement, consumer durables, realty, pharma and commodity stocks. On the other hand, there was a selling trend in banking and oil and gas shares.
At the end of trading, BSE Sensex closed at 76,520.38, up 115.39 points or 0.15 per cent. Whereas NSE’s 50-share index, Nifty, closed at 23,205.35 with a gain of 50 points or 0.22 per cent.
Investors earned ₹2.73 lakh crore
The total market capitalization of companies listed on BSE increased to Rs 424.61 lakh crore today on January 22, which was Rs 421.88 lakh crore on its previous trading day i.e. Tuesday, January 21. In this way, the market cap of companies listed in BSE has increased by about Rs 2.73 lakh crore today. Or in other words, the wealth of investors has increased by about Rs 2.73 lakh crore.
These 5 Sensex stocks had the biggest rise
Today, 17 out of 30 shares of BSE Sensex closed in the green i.e. with gains. In this, shares of Ultratech Cement had the highest rise of 6.81 percent. After this, shares of Zomato, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Sun Pharma and Tech Mahindra closed with a gain of 1.86 percent to 2.52 percent.
These 5 Sensex stocks fell the most
The remaining 13 Sensex stocks closed with losses today. In this too, Power Grid shares were the top losers with a decline of 1.19 percent. Whereas shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank (Koatak Mah Bank), HCL Tech (HCL Tech), Reliance Industries (RIL) and State Bank of India (SBI) saw a fall of 0.97 percent to 1.18 percent.

There was a rise in 2,121 shares
The number of shares closing with gains on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today was high. A total of 4,067 shares were traded on the exchange today. Out of these, 2,121 shares closed with gains. A decline was seen in 1,841 shares. While 105 shares closed flat without any fluctuations. Apart from this, 75 shares touched their new 52-week high during trading today. Whereas 99 shares touched their new 52-week low.
