Sensex-Nifty Crashes: After four consecutive trading days of decline, the market recovered and today it has strengthened for the third consecutive trading day. It has strengthened by about one percent in three days amid strong signals from the global market. The market got good support from metal and finance stocks. Overall, the market cap of companies listed on BSE has increased by Rs 4.09 lakh crore, that is, the wealth of investors has increased by Rs 4.09 lakh crore. At the end of the day, Sensex closed at 77,042.82 with a rise of 318.74 points or 0.42% and Nifty closed at 23,311.80 with a rise of 247.15 points or 0.42%.
Increase in investors’ wealth by Rs 4.09 lakh crore
One trading day earlier i.e. on January 15, 2024, the total market cap of all the shares listed on BSE was Rs 4,24,31,020.43 crore. Today i.e. when the market closed on January 16, 2024, it reached Rs 4,28,40,885.55 crore. This means that investors’ capital has increased by Rs 409,865.12 crore.
20 Sensex shares in green zone
There are 30 shares listed on Sensex, out of which 20 closed in the green zone. The biggest gains were in Adani Ports, SBI and Bajaj Finserv. 98 shares at one year high
4067 shares were traded on BSE today. In this, 2778 shares strengthened, 1188 declined while 101 remained unchanged. Apart from this, 98 shares fell to one year high and 63 shares fell to one year low. While 11 shares reached the upper circuit, 1 share reached the lower circuit.
