Government Scheme: Now another state of the country has announced to increase pension for the elderly. Now the elderly will get a pension of Rs 3,500. Earlier this pension was Rs 1,200. Odisha government announced to increase social security pension for the elderly and disabled people of the state. Senior citizens aged 80 years and above and persons with more than 80% disability will now get a monthly pension of Rs 3,500. Launch of ‘Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme’
The government has set a target to cover 3 lakh households in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme. The work of installing solar panels on the roof will be completed by March 2027. The state government will provide an additional subsidy of ₹25,000 on top of the central government’s subsidy of ₹30,000 on solar panel installation of 1 KW.
Big decisions for women and agriculture sector
The state government has decided to cover all eligible women under its flagship Subhadra scheme. The first two installments of Rs 10,000 each for 2024 will be given to all eligible women who apply by March 31, 2025. A provision of ₹847.14 crore has been made for five years under the Mukhyamantri Krishi Udyog Yojana (MKUY) to promote the agriculture sector. This scheme was launched in 2018 to encourage agri-entrepreneurs and create employment opportunities.
Odisha government took these big decisions
Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation (OSCSC) will be given a government guarantee of ₹17,500 crore for five years and guarantee commission of ₹437.5 crore has been waived. It was decided to transfer the administrative control of minerals from the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to the Steel and Mineral Department. Odisha Statistics and Economics Service and Odisha Subordinate Statistics and Economics Service cadre will be re-constituted. It was decided to repeal the Manual Scavengers and Dry Latrines (Ban) Act 1993.
