After the ban on Syria was lifted from Syria, President Ahmed Al-Sara met Turk’s President Recep Taip Erdogan and other top officials in Istanbul.
Erdogan said the Turkas welcome the withdrawal of restrictions and Israel’s capture and invasion of the Syrian region is wrong. He said that Türkiye will continue opposing it.
The meeting was attended by the Turki Foreign Minister, Defense Minister, Intelligence Head and Secretary of Defense Industry. Al-Sara had earlier met Erdogan in February and also met Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
Both countries are discussing Syria’s reconstruction and strengthening of mutual relations. US President Donald Trump decided to lift the ban on Syria, which was also supported by the European Union.
The US has exempted the sanctions imposed under the 2019 Caesar Syrian Act. However, this discount is temporarily given for 180 days. After this, restrictions can be implemented again.
