External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday claimed that Rahul Gandhi had deliberately lied about his visit to America in Parliament. Jaishankar said that he had gone to meet the Foreign Minister of Biden administration and NSA in December 2024. During this time there was no discussion about any invitation regarding PM Modi.

In fact, Rahul mentioned the swearing in of the US President in Parliament. He had said that we do not send our Prime Minister not to call the swearing -in, the Foreign Minister. If our country had a good manufacturing system, if we were working on techniques, the US President himself would have come here and would have invited the Prime Minister.

Jaishankar said- PM does not attend the swearing-in ceremony Jaishankar said that Prime Minister Modi does not attend the swearing -in ceremony of world leaders or such programs. He said that India represents India in such an event. Jaishankar said that such statements of the opposition leader have damaged India’s image abroad.

Jaishankar said in social media posts-

I went to meet the Foreign Minister of Biden administration and NSA. There I also presided over the meeting of our diplomats. After this, the then Foreign Minister and NSA met me. During this time, the invitation was not discussed at the swearing -in ceremony of the Prime Minister at any level.
