Russian President Putin on Monday removed Starovite from the post of Transport Minister.
Russia’s Transport Minister Roman Starovite shot himself a few hours after being removed from the post on Monday. President Vladimir Putin on Monday dismissed him without giving any reason.
Starovoite was made the Minister of Transport on 14 May 2024, and was the first governor of the Kursk region bordering Ukraine for five years. His death was confirmed by Russia’s inquiry committee.
The committee said that Starovite’s body was found in his car. In his place, former Governor Andrei Nikitin has been appointed as Temporary Transport Minister.

Starovite accused of corruption
According to Russian media reports, the dismissal of Starovoite is being considered as Ukrainian drone attacks on July 5-6. Around 300 flights were canceled across the country due to Ukrainian drone attacks.
In the Ukrainian attacks, a tanker was also exploded at Russia’s razor. The explosion led to the leakage of ammonia on 6 July, causing an emergency.
At the same time, Starovite’s dismissal is also seen in Cursa with corruption cases. A few months after Starovite left the post of Governor in Kursk, Ukrainian troops attacked there, the largest foreign attack in Russia after World War II.
At the same time, Starovite was accused of corruption. After Starovoite, Kursk’s new governor Alexi Smirnov was accused of rigging money in April.

According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russia first fired ballistic missile towards Kiev and then left more missiles.
Russia attacked Ukraine with 550 missiles and drones
Russia attacked Ukraine with 500 missiles and drones on the morning of 4 July. Ukraine President Vlodimir Jailonsky claimed that 270 of these missiles were killed in the air.
Apart from these, there were 330 Shahd drones. Of these, 208 drones were blocked through electronic systems. These drones are made in Iran.
The biggest target of this attack was the capital Kiev. Apart from Kiev, Dnipro, Sumi, Kharkiv, Chernihiva and surrounding areas were also damaged. Keev Mayor Vitsko Clitsko said that at least 23 people were injured in this attack and 14 of them had to be hospitalized.
This attack has damaged apartment buildings, shops, a school, a hospital, railway line and other essential structures in many areas of Kiev. According to Kiev Independent, the sounds of the blasts were heard from 10 pm on July 3 and it continued till the morning of 4 July.
In retaliation, Ukraine also attacked several locations in Russia on 5-6 July, targeting Russia’s port.

Ukraine claims- 41 Russian aircraft destroyed
Ukraine destroyed 41 Russian fighter aircraft in June. Ukraine targeted Oleanya Air Base in Marmaansk, Russia, Belaya Air Base in Irqutsk, Ivanovo Air Base in Ivanovo and Diogilevo Air Base, according to the Ukrainian website Kiev Independent report.
Russia’s rolling airbase is more than 4 thousand km away from the Ukrainian border. It is located in the Siberia region of Russia. According to the report, Ukraine’s Security Agency (SBU) carried out the attack, using FPV (first-Persen-View) drones. It targeted strategic bombers like A-50, TU-95 and TU-22.
An SBU official said that he has carried out the attack in his own defense, as these Russian aircraft often drop bombs on Ukrainian cities. Russia has confirmed this attack. According to initial estimates, the cost of damage can be US $ 2 billion (more than 17 thousand crore rupees).
The attack took place at a time when peace talks are to be held in Istanbul on Monday and clashes across the border have intensified.
