Kursk is a Russian region. In August last year, Ukraine attacked Kursk province and captured 1376 square km of land. However, later Russia deployed thousands of North Korean soldiers in this area, after which Ukrainian soldiers could not advance.
After this, Russia retaliated by snatching back 40% of the area from Ukraine in Kursk and deployed 59 thousand soldiers here.

Another blogger reported that the Ukrainian attack began in the area of Sudzha, but Ukrainian paratroopers soon landed there, causing fighting to spread to surrounding areas.
