Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, reacting to a statement by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, said that he is not the creator of the Constitution. Let us tell you that Mohan Bhagwat had said in a statement on Monday that India’s true independence was established on the day of consecration of Ram temple. Responding to Bhagwat’s statement, Raut said that the RSS Sarsanghchalak is certainly a respectable person but he is not the creator of the Constitution nor will he make or change the laws of the country.
‘Everyone made sacrifices to build the temple’
Responding to Mohan Bhagwat’s statement, Raut said, ‘The Sarsanghchalak of RSS is a respectable person, but he is not the creator of the Constitution. He will not make or change the laws of the country. The consecration of Ramlala’s life has been a matter of prestige for the country and everyone has been supportive and sacrificed in building the temple. He said that it is wrong that the country became independent. Ramlala has been in this country for thousands and lakhs of years and we have already carried out movements for Ramlala and will continue to do so. But you should not do politics in the name of Ram Lala, only then the country will be truly independent.
‘…then the opposition will not survive’
On the news of its disbandment after alleged differences in the INDIA block, Raut said, ‘Why will the India Alliance not survive? If India Alliance is not kept alive, the opposition will also not remain alive, these are dictatorial people. As we said, it is true that India Alliance was formed only for the Lok Sabha elections, but keeping it alive is important for the country, democracy is needed. In Delhi Assembly elections, both Congress and Aam Aadmi Party feel that they have strength there, hence they are fighting. If both of them would have sat there and discussed and found some solution, we would have enjoyed.
What did Raut say on civic elections?
On the question of fighting the civic elections separately from the alliance, Raut said, ‘In Maharashtra, local elections are held for workers, it is difficult for us to form an alliance there, but we will have an alliance in the Assembly and Lok Sabha. The way the news is coming that India Alliance has broken, Maha Vikas Aghadi has broken, it is wrong. Everyone has to compromise something or the other. When we were in NDA, we used to say that BJP is a big party, and being a big party, it is the responsibility of BJP to bring everyone together. Similarly, Congress Party is a big party of India Alliance, so the responsibility of taking everyone together and providing leadership should be on Congress.
