Doctor during protest
The court has convicted Sanjay Roy in the case of rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata. On Monday (January 20), the court will sentence Sanjay Roy. However, the doctors protesting to get justice for the female doctor say that their protest will continue. Doctors from various hospitals on Saturday took out a protest rally expressing their dissatisfaction over the sentencing of key accused Sanjay Roy and demanded that the CBI bring to justice all those allegedly involved in the crime.
Junior and senior doctors from government hospitals in the city, including RG Kar Hospital, took out a rally outside the Sealdah court and said their protest would continue until the truth behind the crime is fully revealed.

Junior doctor Aniket Mahato said, “Sanjay has been convicted, but what about the other culprits? How could he have committed this crime alone? The CBI investigation was based on circumstantial evidence, but where is the crime scene? We still have There are many questions that have not been answered.” The agitating doctors also raised questions as to why the Central Investigation Agency did not file any supplementary charge sheet.

Another agitator, Dr Asfaqullah Naiya, asked, “Where is the supplementary charge sheet? The CBI had said they will file a charge sheet soon.” The doctors raised 20 key questions about the case, which they claimed have yet to be answered and pointed out that the crime scene was tampered with. The doctors said, “There is clear evidence of this. Also, what is the reason for the presence of multiple semen samples on the victim’s body? We will not rest until those who tampered with the evidence are brought to justice.”

Doctors distributed pamphlets to people listing 20 questions and urging them to support the protests. Senior doctor Pavitra Goswami said that they will continue the protest until all the culprits are booked. Goswami said “We are not at all satisfied with this sentence. It is actually meant to help those who were equally involved in the crime. Until justice is served and the larger conspiracy is exposed, We will continue to take to the streets.” (Input- PTI language)
