RCB’s big win in WPL 2025, Delhi Capitals lost from Smriti Mandhana’s brilliant innings

WPL 2025: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has made a second consecutive win in the Women’s Premier League 2025, holding and strengthened at the top in the points table. RCB defeated Delhi Capitals by eight wickets thanks to a century partnership between captain Smriti Mandhana and Denny Wyt Hodge. For RCB, fast bowler Renuka Singh and leg-spinner Georgia Wareham took three wickets each while captain Smriti Mandhana played a brilliant innings of 81 runs in the batting. At the same time, Denny Waught Hodge scored 42 runs.

Chasing Delhi’s 142 -run target, RCB scored 107 runs of his first wicket with captain Mandhana’s 47 -ball 10 fours and three sixes with 10 fours and three sixes with Denny Wyt Hodge (42 runs, 33 balls, seven fours). Thanks to the partnership, scored an easy win by scoring 146 runs for two wickets in 16.2 overs. Delhi’s team earlier Renuka (three wickets for 23), Georgia (three wickets for 25), Kim Garth (two wickets for 19) and Ekta Bisht (two for 35 wickets) in front of the best bowling in 19.3 overs. Put on 141 runs. On behalf of Delhi Capitals, Jemima Rodrigues scored the highest 34 runs while only Sara Bryce (23) could touch the 20 -run figure. RCB, who came out to chase the target, was given a great start by the pair of Smriti and Denny.

Smriti hit two fours in the first over of Marigen Cap and then hit two fours on Meenu Mani. Denny also hit four fours in two overs of Shikha Pandey. Smriti hit the first six of the innings on Arundhati Randi, which added 57 runs in power play without losing wickets. Smriti and Denny played all four shots on the field and put up many attractive boundaries. Smriti completed her fastest WPL half -century in just 27 balls with two consecutive fours and one run on Jess Jonasen.

Denny, however, was lucky at the score of 34 when Jemima dripped her easy catch off Jonasen’s ball. Smriti hit a six on Marizen, with the team to complete a century of runs in the 10th over. Arundhati gave Denny a first blow to RCB in the next over by catching Denny at the hands of Jemima. Smriti also hit a six at Jonasen but returned to the pavilion off Shikha. At this time RCB needed nine runs to win and Richa Ghosh (11 not out) hit a six on Arundhati and brought the team to the target.
