New Delhi: Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya has expressed displeasure over the statement of Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat regarding the temple mosque. He has said that Mohan Bhagwat did not say this well. Rambhadracharya said that Mohan Bhagwat has been influenced by appeasement.
What else did Rambhadracharya say?
On Sambhal violence, Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya said, ‘Mohan Bhagwat is not saying anything about the violence that took place there (in Sambhal) and the ongoing atrocities against Hindus. It seems that he is influenced by some kind of appeasement politics.
On Mohan Bhagwat’s ‘temple-mosque’ comment, Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya told PTI, ‘This is his personal opinion. He didn’t say anything nice. This is very unfortunate.
Criticizing Mohan Bhagwat, Rambhadracharya said, ‘The Sangh has been formed on the basis of Hindutva only. Wherever the remains of our temple are found, we will take them there. Will not take it where it is not available. If someone kills a Jew, Israel takes action. Thousands of Hindus are being killed, the government is doing nothing. The government should deal sternly with Bangladesh. Bhagwat’s statement is unfair. He has been our disciplinarian. He may be the Sar Sanghchalak of the Sangh, but he is not ours.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, recently Mohan Bhagwat has expressed concern over the resurgence of many temple-mosque disputes. He had said that it is not right that a new case is being raised every day. He had said that after the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, some people feel that they can become leaders of Hindus by raising such issues. While advocating an inclusive society, the Sangh chief had said that there is a need to show the world that the country can live together in harmony. Underlining the diversity of Indian society, Bhagwat said that Christmas is celebrated in Ramakrishna Mission. He also said that only we can do this because we are Hindus.
He had said that we have been living in harmony for a long time. If we want to provide this goodwill to the world, we need to model it. After the construction of Ram temple, some people feel that they can become leaders of Hindus by raising similar issues in new places. This is not acceptable. He also said that now the country runs according to the Constitution. In this system people elect their representatives, who run the government. The days of dominance are gone.
Mohan Bhagwat had said that if everyone considered themselves Indians then why was the “language of supremacy” being used. Sangh chief Bhagwat said, “Who is the minority and who is the majority?” Everyone is equal here. The tradition of this country is that everyone can follow their own method of worship. The only requirement is to live in good faith and follow the rules and laws.
