Railways gave good news to devotees on Mauni Amavasya, trains will be available from Prayagraj every 4 minutes

New Delhi: On the day of Mauni Amavasya on January 29, a huge crowd of devotees is thronging the Mahakumbh Mela area before the second Amrit bath of Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025. In view of the convenience of the devotees, the railway will run 60 special trains on tomorrow, 29 January. On the arrangements made by the Indian Railways before Mauni Amavasya, Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar said that we have made a careful plan and learned from our experience on 13-14 January.

190 special trains will run on Wednesday

Apart from the east, 60 special trains will run in the prescribed number on Wednesday. In total, 190 special trains will run. 110 regular trains on that route will run as usual. Train will be available every 4 minutes from Prayagraj and this is a major achievement. Officers and railway employees are stationed and currently alert. We are taking updates from them every minute.

About 10 thousand RPF personnel will be deployed

Satish Kumar said that the war room has become active. We expect at least 100 million visitors on Wednesday. All our machinery is very active and is coordinated with the state government. 8000-10000 RPF personnel are deployed at trains and railway stations for the convenience of passengers.

Trains will run from nine stations

Railways said that trains running more than 150 will be run from Prayagraj Junction, Subedarganj, Naini, Prayagraj Chivki, Prayag Junction, Phaphamau, Prayagraj Rambagh, Prayagraj Sangam and Jhunsi. Senior Public Relations Officer of Prayagraj Railway Division Amit Malviya said that on January 29, more than 150 fair special trains will be operated on Mauni Amavasya, most of which will run from Prayagraj Junction. He informed that special trains will be run at their scheduled time from regular trains as well as other stations in the division.

There will be ticketing system at railway station

In view of the increase in passengers, the railway division has implemented a color-coded ticketing system and has established additional shelter arrangements at the stations. In addition, comprehensive safety protocols have been implemented, including the deployment of AI-based CCTV cameras, investigative dogs and bomb disposal squads in major areas. Mock drills have been organized to cope with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) to deal with any emergency.
