There is a big shock news for railway passengers. Indian Railways is going to make a slight increase in fare in different categories of long distance trains including AC and Non-AC Mail and Express Service from 1 July. According to the CNBC voice, the fare of non-AC mail and express trains will increase by 1 paise per kilometer, while the AC category fares will increase by 2 paise per kilometer.
Apart from this, the Ministry of Railways has made Aadhaar Authentication compulsory for all Tatkal ticket booking through the IRCTC website and app from 1 July 2025. The move declared on June 10 through a directive is to prevent immediate misuse of the scheme and ensure that the ticket is actually given to the needy passengers.
