The 68th match of IPL 2025 was played on Sunday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, where Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Hyderabad won by 110 runs on the basis of Henriqu’s Klassen’s banging unbeaten 105 runs. This is Kolkata’s biggest defeat in IPL history.
Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 278 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. This tournament is the third largest score in history. Interestingly, the record of the top four high score of IPL is the name of this team. Hyderabad had earlier scored 287/3 in 2024 and 286/6 against Rajasthan Royals in the same season 2025. In response, the Kolkata Knight Riders team, chasing a target of 279 runs, were reduced to 168 runs in 18.4 overs and suffered a big defeat.
Ajinkya Rahane praised SRH batsmen after suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of SRH. Rahane said that he feels that SRH’s team batted very well. Yes, we made some mistakes while bowling, but the way they batted, they took advantage of the bad balls and also shot all the good balls. The credit goes to the SRH batsmen.
KKR has no regrets
Rahane said that we tried to put a slow ball but we could not fully implement our plans. We gave our best, this league is quite difficult. But we also had many opportunities but we could not redeem them. We had such occasions that we used to roast, and could have lived in the first or second place in the table. But we have no regrets, I got to learn a lot from this season. All the players gave their best. We will come back even stronger next year.

Last year’s champion Kolkata Knight Riders could win only 5 matches in 14 matches in IPL 2025 while lost in 7 matches. There was no result of 2 matches. The team finished 8th in the points table.
