Putin made this statement while talking to a Russian channel on Friday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that the Ukraine war could have been avoided if Donald Trump had been US President in 2022. He said that he is ready to talk to Trump on this issue. The Russian President claimed that the victory was stolen from Trump in 2020.
Speaking to a Russian TV channel, Putin said –
I agree with Trump that if his victory had not been stolen in 2020, the Ukraine crisis probably would not have occurred in 2022. As far as talks are concerned – we have always said, and I want to say it once again, that we are ready for talks on the issue of Ukraine.
Earlier in 2020, Donald Trump had alleged that he had been defeated by rigging in the elections. Trump has also claimed many times that if he had been the President of America instead of Joe Biden, the Ukraine war would not have started.
He had also reiterated this during the swearing in on January 20.
Trump said- OPEC should reduce oil prices from the country
US President Donald Trump has asked the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to reduce oil prices. Trump believes that this can prevent the Russia-Ukraine war.
Speaking via video conference at the World Economic Forum’s annual summit in Davos, Switzerland, Trump held the OPEC+ alliance responsible for the three-year-long Ukraine war.
Apart from this, Trump also reiterated this during a discussion with journalists in North Carolina on Friday.
Trump also expressed concern over the number of soldiers killed in the war. He said,
At this time only bullets are being fired and people are being killed. More than one million people have been killed in this war so far and thousands of people are losing their lives every week.
Trump said- end this stupid war
Trump wrote in a post on social media, Russian President Vladimir Putin should make a deal with Ukraine. He warned Putin that, if Putin did not end the “stupid war” in Ukraine, he would face higher tariffs and additional sanctions.
Trump may meet with Putin soon. Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of America on January 20.
