Before the festival of Diwali, the Central Government has given great news to lakhs of employees of the Postal Department. The government has approved giving Productivity Based Bonus (PLB) to Postal Department employees for the financial year 2024-25. Under this scheme, employees will be given a bonus equal to 60 days i.e. two months’ salary. This approval has been issued after the approval of the President, due to which tremendous enthusiasm is being seen among the employees.
The festive season in India brings happiness to the employees, and this time the Postal Department has made Diwali more special for its staff. The central government has already given several reliefs like increase in dearness allowance (DA), payment of bonus and reforms in the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) before Diwali. In such a situation, this bonus gift is going to give double happiness to the post office employees.
According to the order issued by the Postal Department, this bonus will be given to Group C, Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), Non-Gazetted Group B employees, Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) and full-time casual workers. It is estimated that this step will directly benefit lakhs of employees. On this festive occasion, this bonus will not only strengthen their financial condition but will also increase the happiness of their families.
According to the report, the bonus will be calculated on the basis of the average salary of the employees. The formula for this has been fixed – (average salary × 60 days ÷ 30.4). This calculation will include basic pay, dearness allowance, special allowance, duty allowance and training allowance. However, the maximum salary limit of bonus has been kept at Rs 7,000 per month. The bonus for Gramin Dak Sevaks will be decided on the basis of their Time-Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) and Dearness Allowance.
This decision of the government has created a wave of happiness among the employees of the postal department. This announcement of bonus will boost their morale as well as give impetus to the festive market. Getting a bonus equal to two months’ salary before Diwali is actually proving to be “Double Delight Diwali” for these employees.
