Chandigarh: Haryana’s YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra is in discussion on allegations of espionage for Pakistan. A senior police officer from Haryana on Sunday claimed that Pakistani intelligence agencies were developing Jyoti Malhotra as their property. Significantly, Jyoti has been arrested.

What did the police tell about Jyoti?

The police officer said that during the four -day military struggle between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, she was allegedly in touch with a Pakistani officer posted at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

Hisar Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan said that Malhotra had no such information related to military or defense operations, which could be said at this time that she could share it. But she was directly in touch with PIO. He said this while addressing media persons in Hisar, Haryana.

The SP said that of course, they (Pakistan) were developing him as a property. She was in touch with other YouTubers and influential people. They were also in touch with the PIO. He said that this is also a kind of war, in which they (Pakistan) try to pursue their story by recruiting influential people.

Jyoti arrested from New Agrasen Extension on Friday

The official said that 33 -year -old Jyoti was arrested from New Agrasen Extension on Friday. Police said that they have been registered under the relevant sections of the official secrecy Act and the Code of India Code. After being produced in court on Saturday, he was sent on five days police remand.

SP Sawan told reporters that Haryana Police is questioning Malhotra. He said, “We are analyzing her financial transactions, travel details, where she went and from whom.” He said that the police is also in touch with the central agencies.

The official said, “We will analyze his laptop and other electronic gadgets. After that it would be clear what information she shared. ‘The officer said that she had gone to Pakistan on a sponsored journey. (Input: PTI)
