Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a tour of Uttarakhand on 6 March today. Here PM Modi offered prayers at the winter migration site of Maa Ganga at Mukheemath in Mukhwa. After this, he spent time with local artists and enjoyed traditional folk dance in Makhuwa. Makhuva is famous as the winter capital of Maa Ganga, the event was organized in. Prime Minister Modi also addressed the gathering at a public function in Harshil.

After worshiping the mother Ganga in Mukheimath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off a trek and bike rally in Harshil, Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present on the occasion.

Winter tourism program begins

Please tell that the Uttarakhand government has started the Winter Tourism Program this year. Thousands of devotees have already traveled to the winter sites of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. The purpose of this program is to promote religious tourism and promote tourism business including local economy, homestay.

Major roads and chowk of the village have been decorated with flowers to welcome the Prime Minister in Mukhwa.

Mukhwa village at a distance of 2 km from Harshil

Mukhwa village is situated at a distance of 2 km from Harshil, about 75 km from Uttarkashi district headquarters. Mukhwa is called the winter migration site of Maa Ganga, in which about 450 families live, including the pilgrim priests of Gangotri Dham. After the closure of Gangotri Dham, the idol of Maa Ganga is installed for 6 months during the winter. In 6 months, there is a lot of movement in Mukhwa village. After the opening of the kapat, the entire village reaches Gangotri with a grand farewell program with the Bhog idol of Ganga.
