Visakhapatnam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted projects worth more than two crores to Andhra Pradesh. In his address after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 2 lakh crore related to green energy, renewable energy, infrastructure and other sectors in Visakhapatnam, he said that Andhra Pradesh has become such a big hub of information and technology because of its innovative nature. But now is the time for this important southern state to become the center of new future-oriented technology.
First visit to Andhra after becoming PM for the third time
This was Modi’s first visit to the state after assuming the post of PM for the third consecutive time in the year 2024. In Andhra Pradesh, the alliance of TDP, BJP and Janasena played an important role in forming the NDA government at the Centre. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of the state-of-the-art NTPC Green Energy Limited’s Green Hydrogen Hub project at Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam through digital medium in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan at an event organized here. This is the first Green Hydrogen Hub under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
Andhra becomes center of future-oriented technology
PM Modi said, “Andhra Pradesh is such a big hub of information and technology because of its innovative nature. Now is the time for Andhra to become the hub of new future-oriented technology. We must lead emerging technologies, such as the use of green hydrogen, which is an important area of the future.” He said that the National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched in the year 2023 and we aim to produce 50 lakh metric tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030. To produce hydrogen. He said that for this, initially two green hydrogen hubs will be started, one of which is being established in Visakhapatnam.
Green Hydrogen Center will provide employment opportunities
The Prime Minister said that in the future, Visakhapatnam will be among the few cities in the world where green hydrogen production will be available on such a large scale. He said that this green hydrogen center will create many job opportunities and will also develop the manufacturing ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh. There will be an investment of approximately Rs 1,85,000 crore in this project. This will include investment in 20 GW of renewable energy capacities, making it one of India’s largest integrated green hydrogen production facilities. It will have the capacity to produce 1500 TPD green hydrogen and 7500 TPD green hydrogen by-products.
Our resolve to serve the people of Andhra Pradesh
Describing Andhra Pradesh as a state of possibilities and opportunities, Modi said that when these possibilities are realized, Andhra will also become developed and only then India will also become a developed nation. “So development of Andhra is our vision,” he said. Our resolve is to serve the people of Andhra Pradesh.” The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of ‘Bulk Drug Park’ at Nakkapalli in Anakapalle district. Referring to this, he said that Andhra Pradesh is one of the three states in the country where such a park is being established. He said that excellent infrastructure for manufacturing and research will be created in this park, which will increase the enthusiasm of investors and will benefit the pharma companies here.
Inauguration of railway and road projects
The Prime Minister also inaugurated, laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various railway and road projects costing more than Rs 19,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh. These include laying the foundation stone of the South Coast Railway Headquarters at Visakhapatnam, among other projects. Modi said that the projects inaugurated and foundation stone laid today will give new heights to the development of Andhra Pradesh. He said that Andhra Pradesh has set a target of making the state a nearly $2.5 trillion economy by 2047 and to realize this vision, Chandrababu Naidu’s government has taken the initiative of ‘Golden Andhra 2047’. Foundation stone laid for Krishnapatnam Industrial Area
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) under the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh. A flagship project under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) is envisioned as a greenfield industrial smart city. Referring to this he said, “Our government sees urbanization as an opportunity. We want to make Andhra Pradesh an example of new age urbanization. To fulfill the same vision, the foundation stone of KRIS City has been laid today. The Prime Minister said that his government is promoting the ‘Blue Economy’ in mission mode to fully utilize the opportunities related to the ocean. He said, “The income and business of the brothers and sisters associated with fish production in Andhra should increase. We are working in this direction with full sensitivity. We have provided facilities like Kisan Credit Card to the fishermen. We are also taking important steps for safety at sea.
PM Modi did road show
Earlier, the Prime Minister held a road show here along with Chief Minister Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Kalyan. During the roadshow, a large number of people gathered and showered flowers on the leaders riding in the open vehicle and greeted them by waving hands. The entire route was covered with flags of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janasena Party. The road show, which started from the Sampath Vinayak Temple in the port city of Visakhapatnam, ended at the Engineering College grounds of Andhra University. (Language)
