PM kisan yojana: The Central Government provides financial assistance of ₹ 6,000 annually under the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. It gives three equal installments of ₹ 2,000. Crores of farmers of the country take advantage of this. However, still the benefit of PM Kisan Yojana has not reached many farmers. Now the government is making special arrangements to provide benefits of the scheme to all eligible farmers.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has launched the National Sachuration Drive for the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. The campaign will run till 31 May 2025. Its aim is that no eligible farmers should be deprived of the benefits of the scheme. For this, every eligible beneficiary will be linked to the PM Kisan Yojana.
What is PM-Kisan Yojana?
The central government started the PM Kisan Yojana in 2019. In this scheme, cash is sent directly to the farmers’ account through direct benefit transfer, so that they can handle crops and domestic expenses.
The 19th installment of the PM Kisan Yojana was released on 24 February 2025. 9.8 crore farmers were benefited in this. These included 2.4 crore women. Earlier, the 18th installment was released in October 2024 and the 17th installment in June 2024. The government used to send installments every four months. The previous installment came in February. ₹ 2,000 of the 20th installment can come to farmers’ accounts in June 2025.
What is necessary to do to get the 20th installment?
- Complete EKYC (Electronic KYC).
- Link the Aadhaar to the bank account.
- Confirm the land records.
If farmers do not complete these necessary procedures, then they will not get the next i.e. 20th installment of PM Kisan Yojana.
PM-Kisan’s official Twitter Handle (@PMKIFFICIAL) has appealed to farmers to visit their nearest Common Service Center (CSC) and complete this action as soon as possible so that the benefits of the scheme are not interrupted. The government has asked the officials at the state level to speed up the confirmation process of farmers in the villages, so that financial assistance can be reached on time.
