PM Kisan: Both husband and wife were taking benefits, such farmers will be punished, government is going to take strict steps – pm kisan samman nidhi both husband wife taking benefits with scheme government cancel installment name

PM Kisan: Crores of farmers across the country are eagerly waiting for the 21st installment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. But in the meantime the central government has taken a big step. The government has started identifying those farmers who are taking advantage of the scheme unfairly. According to the data, more than 31 lakh farmers across the country have been included in the list of doubtful beneficiaries.

Both husband and wife were taking advantage

Investigation by the Agriculture Ministry has revealed that at many places both husband and wife were taking an amount of Rs 6,000 under the PM Kisan Yojana. Whereas, as per the rules, only one member of a family i.e. husband, wife and minor child can get the benefit of this scheme. For such cases, the Central Government had launched a special verification drive in the states and union territories.

Verification process will be completed by October 15

According to the ministry’s report, out of 31.01 lakh suspected cases, investigation of 19.02 lakh cases has been completed so far. Of these, about 17.87 lakh, in about 94% cases, both husband and wife have been found to be receiving money. The government has directed the states to complete the verification process of all the beneficiaries by October 15, so that wrong beneficiaries can be removed and genuine farmers can get the money on time.

Mistakes in the names of minors and old owners also

Investigation has also revealed that PM Kisan installments are being received in the name of about 1.76 lakh minor children, whereas this is completely against the rules. Apart from this, more than 33 lakh such cases have come to light, where the information about the old owner of the land is wrong or not recorded at all. In many places, payments are being made to both the old and new owners of the same land. 8.11 lakh such cases have been detected so far.

There may be a delay in receiving the installment

The government has already sent the 21st installment of Rs 2,000 to the accounts of farmers in the flood-affected states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttarakhand. But farmers of other states may have to wait some more. It is believed that the money can be released before Diwali, however, if the verification process is not completed, this payment may be postponed till November.
