The Haryana government has made major relief announcements for millions of poor families of the state. The state government will give 100 yards plot and solar panel free to BPL families. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini gave information about two important schemes during an event held in Ladwa Assembly on Wednesday, which will directly benefit the families of BPL and Antyodaya category.
Free solar panel will provide electricity up to 200 units
CM Saini informed that the families whose annual income is less than Rs 1.80 lakh will be given 2 kW solar panels for free under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Power Scheme. These panels will be installed on the roofs of their houses and will be able to generate about 200 units of electricity every month.
The state government has also said that a subsidy of up to Rs 70,000 is given by the Center on installing solar panels. The Haryana government will bear the balance cost itself, that is, families will not have to spend even one rupee. The team of officers will go from village to village and identify eligible families and get panels installed on their homes.
Under this scheme, the government has set a target of delivering solar panels to 1 lakh houses. At present, about 26 thousand families have taken advantage of this scheme. After the installation of solar panels, these families will get relief from heavy electricity bills.
Those who do not have land, they will get 100 yards plot
The Chief Minister said in his second major announcement that the state government will give a plot of 100-100 yards to 1 lakh such Antyodaya families, which do not have any land of their own. These plots will be given under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana.
Under this scheme of the government, beneficiaries will also get legal documents along with plots. After getting the plot, these families can also build their homes by taking advantage of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. As per the plan, the price of the plot has been kept at only Rs 1 lakh, which the beneficiary will have to deposit within one year of getting the authority.
How big is the scope of beneficiaries?
According to Haryana government data, there are about 50 lakh families in the state whose annual income is 1.80 lakh or less. This means that millions of people can directly benefit from these schemes. The government will soon start preparing the list of the next 1 lakh families to get the plot. These announcements of the Haryana government can prove to be very beneficial for the poor and weaker sections of the state.
