The US Defense Ministry has confirmed for the first time that a ballistic missile from Iran fell on its military airbase in Qatar on 22 June.

Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnel said that the missile had caused a slight loss to goods and structures on the base. But the airbase is still completely operational and the US is continuing the Regional Security Mission with its Katri partners.

Iran targeted the US Al-Udeed Air Military Base in Qatar to avenge attacks on its atomic bases. He fired a total of 6 missiles.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also confirmed the attack, stating that it had carried out a counter -missile attack on the US base in Qatar.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump described the attack as modest.

The statement came after the satellite photographs released by the Associated Press. In these, the effect of the attack on the airbase is clearly visible.

According to the pictures, a geodesic dome was present on the airbase on the morning of 23 June, which has been completely destroyed after the attack.

This dome covered a satellite communication terminal. The terminal was built in 2015 at a cost of $ 15 million.

There was a satellite dish inside it. Which was part of the communication system for the US Air Force’s 379th air campaign branch.

This dome is missing in the pictures after the attack and a nearby building is also damaged. However, the rest of the airbase looks largely safe.

America targeted Iran’s nuclear bases

On June 22, the US attacked 3 nuclear bases in Iran with a 7 B-2 bomber. These included Fordo, Natanj and Isfahan.

About 13 hours after the missile was demolished at the Iranian nuclear bases, US Defense Minister and Joint Chief of Staff General Dan Kane addressed a press conference.

In this, General Dan Kane said that the name of the operation in Iran was ‘Operation Midnight-Hammer’. It included more than 125 jets.

After the US attacks, satellite photos of Iran’s nuclear bases were also revealed.
