Haryana Government has given a big gift to the senior citizens of the state on the occasion of its first anniversary. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the elderly in the state will now get a pension of ₹3200 every month. At present this amount was ₹ 3000, which will be increased and implemented from November 2025. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the economic security of youth, farmers and senior citizens.
The elderly will get direct benefits
According to the state government, this increase will provide direct financial benefits to more than 20 lakh pensioners. According to the data of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, there are more than 3500 pensioners above 100 years of age in Haryana, out of which the number of women is more than that of men. The Chief Minister said that this decision will help senior citizens to live a respectable life and bear monthly expenses easily.
In the state level program, the Chief Minister said that in its very first year, the Nayab Saini government has fulfilled 46 out of 217 promises made before the assembly elections. Work on the remaining 158 promises is in progress. CM Saini said that this pension increase is not only a step towards social welfare but also shows the government’s commitment towards development and good governance.
Housing Scheme and other promises
In the program, the Chief Minister also informed that his government has allotted 518 new plots in Panjore, Panchkula under the Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme. A total of 15,765 plots have been given so far while more than 77,000 families have been benefited through the Pradhan Mantri and Chief Minister Housing Schemes. The Chief Minister also promised that the government will fulfill the goal of providing “a roof over the head of every person”.
Naib Singh Saini said that development works are being done with transparency and accountability in Haryana. This step of increasing pension for the elderly is going to strengthen social security, which will give them financial relief and an opportunity to live life with self-respect.
