Terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki was ill for some days. He was admitted to Lahore hospital due to high sugar, where he died.
Mumbai attack mastermind terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki has died of a heart attack today. Makki was ill for the last few days. He was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Lahore due to high sugar.
Abdul Makki was a relative of terrorist Hafiz Saeed and also the deputy chief of terrorist organization Jamaat-ud-Dawa. In 2020, he was also sentenced to 6 months by a court for terrorist funding. After the punishment he kept himself a low profile. In 2023, the United Nations declared him a global terrorist.

Who is Abdul Rehman Makki?
Abdul Rehman Makki is also known as Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki. He was born in 1954 in Bahawalpur, Punjab province of Pakistan. Makki has been close to Hafiz Saeed for a long time.
He has held many important positions in Lashkar and Jamaat-ud-Dawa. Makki also handled tasks like political chief and raising funds for Lashkar. He was also a member of Shura, the governing body of Lashkar.
Makki was considered an accused by Indian agencies for the terrorist attacks on the Red Fort in 2000 and the Taj Hotel in Mumbai in 2008. The US Finance Department included him in the list of Special Designated Terrorists in 2010.

Makki was arrested by Pakistani police in 2019 on charges of terror funding after international pressure. In April 2021, he was sentenced to 9 years in prison. However, citing lack of evidence, Lahore High Court released him after a few months.
Under the Reward for Justice program, America had placed a reward of 2 million dollars on Makki and had sought information from the people to get him punished.
In June 2022, India and America had jointly proposed to declare him a global terrorist under UN Rule 1267, but China had banned it. However, later in January 2023, China lifted its ban. After this Makki was put in the global terrorist list.
