Match fees reduced by 75%
The Pakistan Cricket Board has reduced the match fees of the players participating in the upcoming National T20 Cup. Players participating in the tournament will be paid 10,000 Pakistani rupees as match fees. Which is 75 percent less than the previous season. In the first National T20 Cup, players used to get 40, 000 rupees per match. Now it has been suddenly reduced. At the same time, according to 2022, there is a very heavy cut. Players then used to get 60000 Pakistani rupees as match fees.
According to ESPN Cricinfo report, a PCB official has said that the decision to reduce fees is not the result of financial concerns. The PCB feels that the players’ earnings have increased due to more tournaments in the domestic calendar. Which includes the National T20 Cup. The last time this tournament took place in December 2024. Then only five teams took part in it. Many players also play in the President’s Trophy tournament. This gives them monthly salary. For this reason, the Pakistan Cricket Board believes that the players’ total earnings will not decline even by reducing match fees.
National T20 Cup will be played in three cities
The National T20 Cup 2025 will start from March 14. It will be played in three cities. Which will have matches in Faisalabad, Lahore and Multan. A total of 39 matches will be played during the tournament. After this, the final will be held in Faisalabad on 27 March. On the other hand, Pakistan’s national team has to play five T20 and three ODI series against New Zealand in March itself. For this, Pakistan cricket team has left for New Zealand.
