The International Federation of Association Football i.e. FIFA on 6 February gave a major blow to Pakistan. FIFA has suspended the Pakistan Football Federation with immediate effect. FIFA has come out after not implementing constitutional amendments proposed by the Global Football Institution by the Pakistan Football Federation, which was recently elected. A statement has also been issued by FIFA regarding this big decision, in which he also made it clear that the suspension will be removed only when all the proposed amendments are implemented.
Suspension will be removed only after implementing FIFA and FC rules
In a statement issued by FIFA after the Pakistan Football Federation was suspended, he informed that PFF has been suspended with immediate effect as it has failed to adopt the amendment to the PFF constitution. The suspension will be removed only after the new amended rules of the PFF Constitution presented by PFF Congress by FIFA and AFC. Since June 2019, Pakistan Football is being run by the Normalization Committee appointed by FIFA.
Suspended for third time since 2017
This is not the first time from FIFA that they have decided to suspend Pakistan Football Federation. This is the third time to be seen since 2017 till now. Earlier this week, Normalization Committee Chairman Aaron Malik at the Pakistan Football Federation warned the parliamentary panel that 15 February would be on the last day of his tenure and if Pakistan does not implement constitutional amendments, it could be suspended. At the same time, FIFA has taken this big decision even before the end of his tenure.
