Sindh government bid- prisoners return to themselves, softening will be done
This incident of escape from jail is considered to be the biggest security lapse in the history of Karachi. This is the reason that the IG, DIG of the jail department and the superintendent of Malir Jail have also been suspended.
The Sindh government had said that if a prisoner returns to himself within 24 hours, he will be softened. But the one who does not return, will be given an additional 7 -year additional punishment in the crime of breaking the jail. Officials said that the absence of CCTV cameras in the jail is becoming an obstacle in the investigation.
One prisoner killed in accident, 4 security personnel injured
The death of a prisoner in the incident is reported. At the same time, 4 security personnel have been injured. The Home Minister admitted that administrative negligence could also be the cause of this incident.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has been given complete information. He instructed the Home Minister to go to jail and monitor the situation.
Taking cognizance of the incident, Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori also asked the Home Minister and IG Sindh Police to arrest all the prisoners soon.
Home Minister Lanjar said that every absconding prisoner’s identity and records are available. Raids continue in their homes and surrounding areas.
The jail minister said that disciplinary action will be taken against careless officers. In terms of security, check posts and monitoring are being strict.
