Fakhar’s replacement has also been announced. Imam ul Haq has been included in the team in place of Fakhar Zaman. Imam ul Haq was out of the team for about 16 months. He played his last ODI in October 2023 against South Africa in the ICC ODI World Cup in Chennai. The 29 -year -old Imam has played 72 ODIs for Pakistan and scored 3138 runs at an average of 48.27. It also includes 9 centuries and 20 half -centuries.
The ICC’s event technical committee has approved to include Imam ul Haq in the Pakistan team for the Champions Trophy in place of Fakhar Zaman. Let me tell you, to include any player as a replacement in the Champions Trophy, teams are required to take the approval of the ICC event technical committee.
Pakistan’s team is as follows: Babar Azam, Imam ul Haq, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Tayyab Tahir, Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, Salman Ali Aga (Vice -captain), Mohammad Rizwan (Captain), Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasanin, Nasim Shah, Shaheen Afridi.
