Pakistan targeted suspected hideouts of Pakistani Taliban by carrying out air strikes in Afghanistan late on Tuesday night. These attacks were carried out in the mountainous areas of Paktika province of Afghanistan bordering Pakistan. At least 46 people have been killed in this airstrike.
News agency AP quoted Pakistani officials as saying that the training center of Pakistani Taliban i.e. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been destroyed in the attack. Officials claimed the death of many terrorists.
However, it is not clear how far Pakistani planes went into Afghanistan and how they carried out the attacks. This is the second time this year that Pakistan has carried out an airstrike in Afghanistan.
Earlier in January, Pakistan had talked about airstrike in Afghanistan on the basis of intelligence information.
Afghanistan said- will retaliate Afghanistan’s Defense Ministry has condemned the Pakistani airstrike. Kabul alleged that civilians, including women and children, were targeted in the bombing. Afghanistan called it a violation of international rules.
The Afghan Defense Ministry expressed its displeasure by posting on social media platform X. The ministry wrote that such unilateral steps are not the solution to any problem. Afghanistan said it would respond to the airstrike.
The ministry wrote, ‘It is our right to protect our motherland, we will definitely respond to this cowardly attack.’
TTP intensified attacks on Pakistan from 2022 Pakistan often alleges that the Pakistani Taliban uses the land of Afghanistan to carry out terrorist attacks on it. However, Afghanistan has been rejecting these allegations of Pakistan.
With the return of Taliban in Afghanistan in 2021, Pakistani Taliban (TTP) has strengthened. TTP had unilaterally ended the ceasefire with Pakistan in November 2022. After this he has intensified the attacks on Pakistan.
In the last few months, TTP has killed many soldiers and policemen of Pakistan.
Pakistan has already carried out airstrikes in neighboring countries
Pakistan had carried out airstrike in Iran on 17 January. Pakistan had claimed that they had killed many BLA terrorists in Sistan-Baluchistan, Iran. Pakistan considers BLA a terrorist organization. However, Iran had said that 9 civilians had been killed in Pakistan’s airstrike. There are 4 children and 3 women among them.
Actually, Pakistan had carried out this attack in response to Iran’s air strike. On the night of 16 January, Iran attacked Baluchistan in Pakistan with missiles and drones. Iran had said that they had targeted the bases of terrorist organization Jaish al-Adal in Pakistan.
