Hyderabad: A four and a half year old child died after being allegedly trapped in the lift of a building in Hyderabad. The police gave this information on Thursday. This is a second such incident in the city in a month. An official of Asif Nagar police station said that the incident took place in a four -storey building on Wednesday night, a private gents ‘PG Hostel’.
The child had gone inside the lift while playing
According to the official, the child’s parents are from Nepal and his father has been working as a watchman in a building for four months. Police said on Wednesday night, his mother and some locals found the child stuck in the lift. On receiving information about this incident, a police team reached the spot. According to a police officer, preliminary investigation has revealed that while playing, the child went inside the lift and at the same time someone pressed the button. In such a situation, when the lift started rising, the child got stuck between the first floor and the lift gate and was seriously injured.
Case filed on father’s complaint
Police said the local people took the child out and rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The official said that the police is investigating whether the accident happened due to negligence or there was a technical problem in the lift. He said that a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint of the father of the child. According to police, a six -year -old child was trapped between the ‘elevator shaft’ and the wall in an apartment complex in February and later died during treatment at a government hospital.
