Malkangiri: Odisha Vigilance raided the house of Deputy Director and PD Shantanu Mahapatra of the Circulation Project in Malkangiri district. So far ₹ 1.50 crore cash has been seized in this raid, which was mostly in ₹ 500 notes. Vigilance suspected that Shantanu Mahapatra had disproportionate assets. On this basis, raids were conducted on their locations by taking search warrants from Special Judge, Jaipur of Vigilance.

Vigilance team raided seven places

Vigilance team raided seven places, including a three -storey house of Shantanu Mahapatra in Jaipur, Assistant Agricultural Engineer Mohan Mandal’s house in Malkangiri, Data Entry Operator Biswjit Mandal’s house in Malkangiri, house of Biswjit Mandal, home of Biswjit Mandal, contracted employee of Amiakant Sahu, Malkangir Mahapatra’s office, Balisahi of Kattak, his ancestral home in Nuapada and his relative’s house in Bhimtangi Housing Board Colony in Bhubaneswar.

2 Additional SP, 4 DSP, 10 Inspector, 6 ASI were involved to carry out this major operation. Vigilance officials also examined the documents during the raid, which could reveal more information. The Vigilance team is investigating the seized cash and documents in depth.
