According to sources, about 150 trucks were stranded in Pakistan due to stress of Indo-Pak relations. India has given relief to these trucks keeping in mind the interests of Afghanistan trade. Even today, many more trucks are expected to come to India.

India had taken a tough stand for Pakistan since the Pahalgam attack on 23 April. After which Pakistan also refused to give way to Afghanistan trucks to go to India. However, at the behest of the Government of Afghanistan, Pakistan had issued an order that trucks who have entered Pakistan by April 25 are allowed to go to Attari. In that order, Pakistan also made it clear that in the meantime 150 Afghan trucks are stranded in Pakistan.

Attari is located just 28 km from Amritsar and is the first ground port in India. It is also the only valid ground route of trade with Pakistan. During the year 2023-24, a trade of 3 thousand 886 crore was recorded from Attari Land Port. 6 thousand 871 cargo movement crossings were carried out from this route. It is clear that when Pakistan does not give way, it will also affect the trade between India and Afghanistan.
