Police has started a campaign to catch Bangladeshis living illegally in the country’s capital Delhi. Delhi Police, in its verification campaign against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, has identified 175 such suspected people. Officials have given this information on Sunday. The police had conducted a 12-hour verification drive in the outer Delhi area from 6 pm on Saturday.
What did Delhi Police tell?
Regarding this campaign, a Delhi Police official said- “The police have intensified their efforts to identify and detain persons living without valid documents. 175 persons have been identified as suspected illegal Bangladeshi immigrants during a massive verification drive in Outer Delhi.
Action on LG’s order
Delhi Police had started the campaign to identify illegal Bangladeshi immigrants living in the capital from December 11. A day before this, on December 10, LG VK Saxena’s secretariat had issued an order to take action against illegal immigrants. Since then, the police has started a campaign to catch illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.

According to Delhi Police, there is increasing concern over the increasing number of undocumented migrants. The outer district police have initiated action in various areas under their jurisdiction. According to the police, a special team, including personnel from local police stations, district foreign cells and special units, has been directed to conduct door-to-door checks and gather intelligence about suspected illegal immigrants.
