Muhurram holiday: When will India be celebrated on 6 or 7 July this year in India? This has not been decided yet because the date of Muharram will be decided on the basis of the moon visible. Currently, on July 6, Muharram has been discharged as an official date. July 6 is Sunday. If there is Muharram on Sunday, no holiday will be found separately. That is, no government office or school will be closed. If there is Muharram on 7 July, then there will be a holiday everywhere.
What happens in Muharram
The Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar and the beginning of the Islamic New Year begins with the beginning of this month. This day is particularly important for the Shia Muslim community.

Official notifications are expected to be issued soon in Muslim population states like Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and West Bengal. However, if Muharram is on Sunday, July 6, there will be no separate leave for it. If Muharram happens on July 7, there will be a holiday everywhere.
Banks will remain closed
Banks across the country will remain closed on Muharram. If there is Muharram on July 7, the banks will remain closed. Then the common people may have trouble in doing the work related to the bank. In such a situation, the general public is advised to settle the banks related to the bank before or after.
Stock market will also be closed
There will be no business in India’s major stock market Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on the occasion of Muharram. All segments such as equity, equity derivatives, currency and interest rate derivatives as well as Securities Lending and Borohing (SLB) platforms will be closed. If Muharram leaves on July 7, the stock market will remain closed.
Religious importance of Muharram
Muharram is considered one of the four sacred months of Islam. The 10th of this month is called Ashura, which reminds of a very tragic event of Islamic history. On the same day, Imam Hussain, the Nawase of Prophet Mohammed, was martyred in the battle of Karbala in 680 AD. On this day, the Shia Muslim communities especially take out the procession, worship and organize Majlis. This day is celebrated with sorrow and reverence across the country.
