Ola Electric Mobility has received a third communication from central consumer protection authority related to investigation into over 10000 consumer complaints.

Electric Two Wheeler Company Ola Electric Mobility Limited (Ola Electric Mobility) has received the third notice from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) in the matter of customer complaints. In the notice, additional information has been sought from the company related to the investigation of more than 10,000 consumer complaints. Ola Electric has told the stock exchanges that the company received the third notice of CCPA through email on January 10, 2025.

CCPA had earlier issued notices in October and December 2024 as part of the ongoing investigation into Ola Electric’s service deficiencies and alleged violation of consumer rights. Recently, the Karnataka High Court rejected Ola Electric’s plea to quash the notice issued by the CCPA. Justice R Devdas ruled that the notice was issued by a competent investigating officer and Ola Electric was bound to provide the documents sought.

“At this juncture, it is within the power of the investigating officer to issue such communication, and the petitioner, i.e. Ola Electric, is bound to produce the additional documents and records sought,” the court said.

10,466 complaints were received against Ola Electric on the National Consumer Helpline between July 2023 and August 2024. After this the investigation started. The company says that its financials, operations or other activities will not be affected by the newly received notice.
