IRCTC Voice Booking: Ticket booking for railway passengers has now become more convenient than ever. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has integrated Artificial Intelligence based Voice Assistant Askdisha 2.0 on its platform. With this, passengers can now book their tickets only by speaking without typing (IRCTC Voice Booking).

What is Askdisha 2.0?

Askdisha 2.0 is the virtual voice chatbot of IRCTC. It has been designed to make the process of railway ticket booking simple and user-friendly. This feature is available on IRCTC website and mobile app and provides conversations in Hindi and English to passengers.

How to use Askdisha 2.0?

  1. First of all log on to the IRCTC website or mobile app.
  2. Tap on the Askdisha icon given on the homepage, call the voice assistant as ‘Ticket Book’.
  3. After this, it will ask you information related to the journey, such as the name of the station, date, class etc.
  4. Voice Assistant will tell you the list, timing and seat details of available trains.
  5. After choosing the train and class, the assistant will verify your information and take it to the payment page.
  6. As soon as the payment is successful, the ticket will be booked and the PNR number will be sent to you via SMS and email.

Why is this feature special?

This feature is especially helpful for travelers who are not comfortable in text input or feel difficulty in typing on mobile. This technique gives fast, easy and interactive booking experience through voice command.

This innovation of IRCTC is also an important step towards Digital India Mission, which is making railway service more inclusive and smart.

Tickets will be expensive from July 1

Indian Railways is going to increase passenger fares in long distance mail and express trains from 1 July 2025. Under this revised fare structure, non-AC category passengers will now be taken 1 paise per kilometer more, while AC category tickets will increase by 2 paise per kilometer. This change will be effective on long distance trains across the country.

The Railway Ministry has clarified that there has been no change in the rates of sub-urban trains and monthly season tickets (MST). At the same time, ordinary second class passengers will have to pay an additional 0.5 paise per kilometer on a journey of more than 500 kilometers.
