‘Mid Day Meal’,
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is now going to make a big change in the plans of ‘Mid Day Meal’. The state government has decided to include students of class 9 and 10 under the ‘Mid Day Meal’ (Mid -Day Meal) Scheme. This facility is still available to those from class one to 8. Addressing the centenary celebrations of Ranihat High School in Cuttack on Tuesday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the expansion of mid -day meal benefits.
Will reduce dropout rates
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that the scheme will meet the nutritional needs of the students and reduce the dropout rates at the secondary level. The program continues across the country under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Nutrition Scheme’. Under this, cooked food is provided to every child between six to fourteen years of age. This facility is provided to children studying from one to eighth.
Committed to strengthen education system
CM Majhi also said that the state government has launched a ‘Shaheed Madho Singh Hata Kha Yojana’ to provide pocket expenses to prevent students from leaving school. The Chief Minister said that the new BJP government of the state is committed to strengthening the school education system. He said that all measures are being taken to ensure that students can continue their studies without any financial obstruction.

Let us know that the mid -day meal scheme was launched on August 15, 1995 as a central government sponsored scheme in 2408 blocks of the country. By the year 1997-98, this program was started in all the blocks of the country. In the year 2003, it was expanded to children studying in education guarantee centers and alternative and innovative education centers.
