Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced several new schemes in the union budget on 1 February. These will benefit farmers, entrepreneurs and women. The special focus of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Center has been on farmers and women. The focus of the Finance Minister’s budget speech was seen on the farmers and women. 1. Prime Minister Dhan-Dhanya Agricultural Scheme

The central government will launch the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhanya Yojana with the states. About 1.7 crore farmers will benefit from this scheme. 100 districts will come under this scheme. These districts will have focus on increasing agricultural productivity, crop diversification, crop storage and irrigation facilities. There will also be emphasis on providing agricultural debt easily to farmers for small and medium periods.

2. Self -sufficiency in pulses production

The government will launch a 6 -year mission for self -sufficiency in pulses production. Under this, there will be a focus on increasing the production of pulses in the country. Right now pulses have to be imported. The government wants to reduce the import of pulses. Under this scheme, there will be emphasis on increasing production of urad, tur and lentils. Agencies like the government’s NAFED and NCCF will buy urad, toor and lentils from farmers for the next four years.

3. Scheme for new entrepreneurs

The government is going to start a new scheme for new entrepreneurs. This scheme will help 5 lakh women, ST and ST people who will start enterprise for the first time. The government will provide a loan of up to Rs 2 lakh crore for 5 years to the people coming under the purview of this scheme. This scheme will promote entrepreneurship in remote areas of the country.

4. Competent Agnwadi and Nutrition 2.0

The government will launch competent Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0 programs. Under this, nutritional support will be provided to about 8 crore children, infants’ mothers and pregnant women. This scheme will be applicable across the country. This will provide better nutrition to children and women in remote areas.

5. Scheme for online platform workers

The government will provide identity cards to the online platform workers. For this, they have to register on the e -ram portal. They will also be provided healthcare facilities under the PM Jan Arogya Yojana. This scheme of the government will benefit about 1 crore online platform workers.
