NHAI’s clean toilet challenge, share a picture of a dirty toilet and get a FASTag recharge of Rs 1000 – nhai clean toilet challenge share a picture of a dirty toilet and get a fastag recharge of rs 1000

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a unique campaign to make the passengers and general public aware and responsible towards cleanliness. In this campaign called ‘Clean Toilet Picture Challenge’, if any user takes a photo of a dirty toilet located at the toll plaza of the National Highways and uploads it, then he will get a FASTag recharge of Rs 1000 as a reward.

This initiative is being run under ‘Special Campaign 5.0’, which aims to ensure clean and hygienic toilets on the highways to provide a better experience to the passengers. Under this campaign, anyone who finds a toilet in poor condition can upload a geo-tagged and time-stamped photograph through the ‘Rajmarg Yatra’ mobile app.

While uploading the photo, users will also have to provide their name, location, vehicle registration number (VRN) and mobile number. On the basis of all this information, every valid report will be recognized and a recharge of Rs 1000 will be deposited in the FASTag of the concerned vehicle. Keep in mind that this amount will not be received in cash and it also cannot be transferred.

The scheme is limited to 31 October 2025 and will be applicable only on toilets falling under the jurisdiction of NHAI. Also, a vehicle will receive the reward only once and any toilet will be selected for reward only once in a day, even if multiple complaints are received. Fake, old or edited photographs will not be considered valid and will be rejected.

NHAI said that along with cleanliness, this initiative will also increase the sense of responsibility and vigilance among the passengers. Also, the campaign is coupled with other improvements like installation of road safety signboards, beautification of toll plazas, repair of potholes and removal of illegal encroachments, so that all commuters have a safe and pleasant highway travel experience.

Such initiative is a positive step for passenger convenience and cleanliness, which will play an important role in improving the appearance of National Highways.
